Named after the native yaupon plant, Yaupon Place envisions a community that thrives locally and accessibly, restores our mind-body-spirit health, is ecologically hospitable and resilient, and commits to reconciling with those whose lives have been mistreated, marginalized and misunderstood. Jesus of Nazareth used these same characteristics when describing the new community he desired (the same characteristics through his native mustard plant). A new story was born then, and a new story is possible now.
